I currently hold the position of Full Professor at the Department of Zoology and Fisheries, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. My teaching activities focus on aquaculture and ichthyology. My research is centred on fish, aquatic animals, and human interactions with aquatic systems, with particular emphasis on sustainable aquaculture, biodiversity, and invasive species. My laboratory work includes cytogenetic and molecular genetic methods, as well as computer-assisted morphometry and socio-economic data mining.

Since 2018, I have served as Vice-Dean for Quality Assurance.
